George McCranie is the founder and owner of The George McCranie Law Firm, a Georgia law firm dedicated to helping individuals and families through some of the most difficult moments of their lives. For nearly 30 years, George and his team have helped thousands of clients and their families navigate stressful legal challenges with professionalism, compassion, and determination.
Originally from Willacoochee, Georgia, George built his first law office in Douglas, Georgia, which remains the firm’s original and active location today. Over the years, the firm has grown to serve clients from additional offices in Valdosta and Tifton, Georgia, assisting people across the state.
George’s practice focuses on DUI and Criminal Defense, Personal Injury and Wrongful Death, and Family-Based Immigration. His clients include hardworking Georgia families, professionals facing criminal charges, accident victims injured through no fault of their own, and individuals seeking lawful immigration status in the United States.
In criminal defense, George is known for his straightforward philosophy:

This principle reflects his belief that every person deserves strong legal representation and that the government must meet its burden of proof in court.
Throughout his career, George has been recognized for his legal experience and professional contributions. He previously served on the Board of Governors for the State Bar of Georgia and is a member of the National College for DUI Defense (NCDD), an organization dedicated to advancing DUI defense through education and training.
George has also become a recognized voice in legal education and media. He has been featured in USA Today and has appeared on NBC, ABC, FOX, CW and WB Network affiliates as a legal expert and consultant, often discussing issues related to criminal defense and the justice system. He has also appeared as a Legal Expert Commentator/Guest in TV shows like Crime Exposé With Nancy O’Dell and iCrime With Elizabeth Vargas.
In addition to his legal career, George is also a three-time #1 Best-Selling Author on Amazon, having written six books focused on helping people understand their legal rights and the legal process.
Outside the courtroom and the written page, George has also worked in film production. He is an award-winning film producer with credits including Iron Cowboy, Mi Casa Hogar, and CreatiVets, projects that highlight stories of perseverance, service, and community.

Hello, my name is Rodney Lawton, and I am a criminal defense attorney for the George McCranie Law Firm. I am a lifelong resident of South Georgia and I graduated from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University College of Law with a juris doctorate. I have represented clients in criminal and civil matters primarily in South Georgia I am honored to work for a client-centered law firm and I will vigorously represent anyone needing legal assistance in criminal matters.

My name is John Mobley. I am a criminal defense attorney at the George McCranie Law Firm. I graduated from the University of Georgia and University of Mississippi School of Law. Originally from Columbus, Georgia, I am married with two children. I have been practicing criminal defense since 1995 and have diligently represented thousands of clients charged with felonies and misdemeanors throughout the State of Georgia.

My name is Dillon P. Hanson. I’m an attorney at the George McCranie Law Firm in South Georgia, and my practice focuses on Criminal Defense Law. I was born and raised in Valdosta, and I bring years of experience practicing in courts across South Georgia. I’ve handled a wide range of cases from misdemeanors to felonies, with a strong record of successful outcomes. I am passionate about criminal defense and strongly believe that everyone deserves their day in court. I take pride in defending the rights guaranteed by our Constitution, especially for those accused of criminal offenses. I find my work as a criminal defense attorney both meaningful and rewarding, particularly when I’m able to help a client achieve a great outcome in their case. I’m currently admitted to practice in all Georgia State courts, including the Georgia Supreme Court and Court of Appeals; all Georgia Federal courts; and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. In my free time, I enjoy coaching youth sports in the local community and traveling with my wife, Amanda.
